Flooring Trends for 2017
Every year we put together an overview of the key flooring trends, and 2017 is no exception! Make sure your flooring choice is up to date and in style. Read on to find out what you should look out for this year!
Geometric

2017’s leading trend will be geometric design providing homeowners with a more eccentric look. Traditionally, geometrics have been implemented in interior design through wallpaper and accessories. But now, more and more people are experimenting with triangle, hexagon and diamond shaped flooring tiles to put the geometric trend into effect. This design trend offers a striking, contemporary finish and is extremely versatile.
Grey Tones

In recent months, grey has proven to be the number one choice for those looking to achieve a traditional and comfortable feel with a modern twist. Light grey and now, blonde wood is gaining popularity. Light colours help to make your space appear bigger, brighter and more open. These neutral, calming colours have fast been growing in popularity and are now becoming a dominant design trend in the modern household.
Dark Tones

Whilst grey tones are still going to be hugely popular, if you feel like a change this year, there will also be a growing return back to dark wood tones. For some homeowners grey and light tones may be too common and predictable, so utilising dark stained wood flooring achieves more of a bold and striking look, making your home stand out. They also look great when contrasted with bright white features.
Textures

The rustic, earthy feel is very in right now as interior design trends continue to be inspired by the great outdoors. Natural wood-effect products featuring textured rustic finishes will continue to be in demand for the year ahead. We are expecting to see increased popularity for hardwoods that have distinct hand-crafted finishes, such as hand scrapped and wire-brushed finishes.
