For this North London residence, our client selected the Fibre Flooring Flatweave collection in the elegant Herringbone design. The Lunar colourway offers a sophisticated, contemporary grey tone that complements both modern and traditional interiors beautifully. Fibre Flooring is renowned for its exceptional durability and natural aesthetic, making it an ideal choice for high-traffic stairways where style must meet practicality.
Fitting a herringbone-patterned carpet to stairs is among the most technically demanding installations we undertake. Each tread and riser must be precisely cut to ensure the distinctive chevron pattern flows seamlessly from step to step—a task that requires considerable skill and patience. Our in-house fitting team rose to the challenge, meticulously planning each cut to maintain pattern continuity throughout the entire staircase. As we noted at the time, this was a very complicated installation, but the results speak for themselves.
To frame the runner and create a crisp, tailored appearance, we finished the edges with a black taped fabric binding. This classic detail provides a smart contrast against the Lunar grey, defining the runner’s shape whilst protecting the carpet edges from wear. The black binding adds a touch of sophistication that elevates the overall installation.
